The inauguration ceremony of the Wenzhou Research Institute in collaboration with NTU (WRIN) was attended by Professor Peng Shujie (Vice President of NTU and Fellow of the Academy of Engineering Singapore), Mr. Wang Zhenyong (Vice Mayor of Wenzhou), Professor Qu Jia (Chairman of China Eye Valley), Mr. Li Dan (Deputy Secretary and Acting District Mayor of Longwan), and Ms. Qian Suwen (Party Secretary of Wenzhou Science and Technology Bureau), who jointly launched the institute and officially proclaimed its establishment.

The cooperation agreement for the Wenzhou Research Institute in collaboration with NTU was formally signed at the ceremony by Comrade Xia Yujiang (then District Mayor of Longwan District), Comrade Zhu Zhimeng (Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee of Longwan District), and Professor Peng Shujie (Vice President of Nanyang Technological University, Singapore).

At the signing and unveiling ceremony of the Wenzhou Research Institute in collaboration with NTU, Comrade Zhang Zhenfeng, Vice Governor of the Province and Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, and Professor Peng Shujie, Vice President of Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, delivered speeches and jointly unveiled the plaque of the institute.

Comrade Zhang Wenjie, Mayor of Wenzhou, led a delegation to visit Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

Professor Peng Shujie, Vice President of Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and Dean of the College of Engineering, together with Professor Pu Kanyi, Associate Dean of the College of Engineering, and their delegation, visited Wenzhou.

After meeting with Professor Wen Yonggang, then Vice President of Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in Shanghai, Professor Qu Jia visited NTU again and met with Professor Pu Kanyi, Associate Dean of the College of Engineering.

Comrade Zhang Zhenfeng, then Mayor of Wenzhou, and Professor Wen Yonggang, then Vice President of Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, met for the first time in Singapore.
